Orleans Manufacturing Company Mini-Documentary

Established in 1810 as the Palmer River Manufacturing Co., this mill made cotton yarn. (A cotton spinning mill on the site of the old Joshua Smith grist and saw mill along the Palmer River. ) The mill was enlarged in 1826 and began manufacturing fine cotton cloth as the Orleans Manufacturing Company. The mill was totally destroyed by fire in 1831. The mill was rebuilt and unfortunately burned down again in 1884, when the mill ceased operations. This video showcases the old mill's ruins that still stand in the Spring of 2013.
