Posting Public Meetings in compliance with the new Open Meeting Law effective August 1, 2013

Meeting Notices

Format

  • Notice must include day, date, time, and place of meeting.
  • Notice must include agenda listing all topics reasonably anticipated to be discussed at the meeting and topics must be specific enough so that the public will understand what will be discussed.

Posting

  • You must file with the Town Clerk’s Office at least 48 hours in advance (excludes Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays).

For example:

  • Monday night meetings must be posted by 3:30pm Thursday.
  • Tuesday night meetings must be posted by 3:30pm Friday (if Monday is a holiday, by Thursday).
  • Wednesday night meetings must be posted by 3:30pm Monday.
  • Thursday night meetings must be posted by 3:30pm Tuesday.
  • Friday night meetings must be posted by 3:30pm Wednesday.
