To provide emergency services to the Town of Rehoboth in the areas of water/ice rescue, dive rescue, and land search and rescue. Rescue is also responsible for HAM RACES communications, animal rescue, and supporting other town public safety agencies.
The Rehoboth Rescue Squad was formed in 1965 by a group of town volunteers. Its expressed purpose was to provide rescue services for its townspeople. Its members acquired a used school bus and built the towns first rescue vehicle. Services provided included vehicle extrication, scuba diving, search and rescue, and animal rescue.
While today's Rescue squad has evolved with new equipment such as a mobile command trailer, a heavy rescue vehicle, and retrofitted police cruiser the spirit of pride and dedication to our community remains as prevalent as the day Rescue began in the 1960's.
