About Us

REMA is the town agency with primary responsibility for ensuring resiliency to disasters.

The Director and Deputy Director oversee a staff of trained volunteers who stand ready to serve in the areas of planning, communications, operations, and logistics.REMA continues to build partnerships through the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as well as through local entities to ensure the town's ability to rapidly recover from disasters of all sorts.

Since 1965, REMA has parented the Rehoboth Rescue squad.  This squad consists of highly trained men and women such as first responders and emergency medical technicians who provide services such as ice and water rescue, large animal rescue, and search and rescue.

Together, the members of REMA and Rescue stand ready for an all hazards approach to emergency management.
