E 29: TO AMEND TOWN OF REHOBOTH GENERAL BYLAWS-CHAPTER AARTICLE IV TOWN OFFICIALS – APPOINTED

At the annual Town Meeting, the attendees voted in the affirmative, with no distention to:

 

A. To see if the town will vote to amend the Town of Rehoboth General Bylaws Chapter A-Article IV-Section 1:

S -Rehoboth Emergency Management Agency Director to be appointed by the Fire Chief

T.- Rehoboth Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director to be appointed by the Fire Chief

 

    Description of Services

Each town is required by federal law to maintain its own emergency management agency. The Rehoboth Emergency Management Agency (REMA) implements national and state programs and local preparedness to respond to emergencies and disasters.

DOES YOUR FAMILY HAVE A PLAN IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY SUCH AS A HOUSE FIRE, HURRICANE, OR FLOOD?

AN EMERGENCY PLAN IS A MUST FOR EVERY HOUSEHOLD.  FROM PETS TO CHILDREN AND GRANDPARENTS, EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THE PLAN.  FOR EXAMPLE, HAVE A COMMON MEETING PLACE SHOULD YOUR HOUSEHOLD BE DISPLACED BY A FLOOD OR FIRE.

 


 

THE PURPOSE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IS TO PREVENT EMERGENCIES THAT ARE AVOIDABLE AND PREPARE FOR THOSE THAT AREN'T.  IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO DEVELOP A PLAN, SO HAVE A DISCUSSION WITH YOUR FAMILY TODAY.  THIS MAY ALSO INCLUDE ELDERLY NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS.  FOR MORE INFORMATION ON EMERGENCY PLANS CONTACT US.
