Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

HPV is a commonly occurring virus that is transmitted via skin to skin contact and affects nearly all people at some point in their lives. The good news is that there is an FDA approved vaccine to prevent this virus which can lead to cervical cancer. The HPV vaccine is recommended for all 11-12 year old boys and girls to protect against HPV and HPV-related cancers. The vaccines can be given at up to age 26 for girls and 21 for boys.
